Each year, we strive to craft a wine of singular expression and prestige, a wine that tops them all – Summit.
Following our mission to make the best wine possible, the blend composition is not constrained by variety nor by volume. The 2020 Summit is a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Malbec and 5% estate Petit Sirah, all from the Fair Play AVA. It was aged in two different types of new French oak barrels (Taransaud and Garonaisse) for nearly 2 years before being bottled in September of 2022. The 2020 Summit boasts a dark purple hue, and leads with black jammy fruits, melted graphite, fresh turned earth and notes of dark cocoa and toasted hazelnut. The sheer density and concentration assure a serious and cellar-worthy wine that will continue to improve for years to come, yet can be enjoyed upon release.
For Kehret Vineyards, the Summit is our statement of the greatness of the Sierra Foothills and the Fair Play AVA, and we believe we have crafted a wine that is worthy of being included among the finest Cabernets in California!

The Right Bank of Bordeaux, which typically blends Merlot and Cabernet Franc, is a standard for great ingenuity, creativity and innovation in the wine world. We embrace those same principles in our winemaking endeavors and the 2020 Kehret Right Bank is our embodiment of them. A blend of 45% Malbec, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Sirah, the wine was aged for nearly two years in a combination of new and neutral French oak barrels. The wine is a symphony of indulgence and opulence – darkly hued, with black plum reduction, violets, blueberry and lavender. The palate is rich, luscious and exuberant, showcasing layers of dark fruit, spice and dried flowers, all emerging into a long palate staining finish. This wine will age beautifully, but is round and lush making it thoroughly enjoyable today. Cases produced: 260 Price: $75 before club discounts
As an homage to the great white wines of France’s northern Rhone region, where the famous Mistral winds howl, we fashioned the 2021 Mistral Blanc using 50% Viognier and 50% Roussanne. The wines were barrel fermented using 30% new Francois Freres French oak with the balance in neutral barrels. In our usual manner, we did not fine or filter the wine – nor did it go through malolactic fermentation. All very risky propositions, but essential in our pursuit to bring the greatest vineyard expression to your glass. The result is an unusually complex and structured white wine that even dedicated red wine drinkers will appreciate! The 2021 vintage was extremely challenging due to the nearby Caldor fire. Many local vineyards were tainted by the heavy smoke. Fortunately, the Viognier in this wine was harvested from a Fair Play AVA vineyard that was spared the effects of smoke. The Roussanne came from a vineyard in Amador county and was hand selected vine-by-vine to ensure the best quality fruit. When tasting this wine, the Viognier shines through with floral and fruity aromas and some soft fruit notes on the entry. The mid palate is full and round and the finish is where we experience the effect of the new French oak barrel aging. The finish is long and has distinct oak characteristics - not buttery like a typical Chardonnay, but a true taste of the lovely medium toast of the Francois Freres French oak barrels. This wine boasts aromas of grilled pineapple, honeysuckle, hazelnut and crème brûlée, while the palate echoes ripe tropical fruits and toasted coconut. Rich and lively, the 2021 Kehret Mistal Blanc is a prodigious wine to be enjoyed over the next 5 years. Only 105 cases were produced. Price: $45 before club discounts
